About Angeline King

Angeline King, PhD, former Writer in Residence of Ulster University (2020-2023) lives in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. With a keen interest in languages and local dialects, she came runner up in the 2021 Linen Hall Library Ulster Scots short story competition and won the 2021 Frances Browne Ulster Scots Poetry competition. Angeline worked in international business for 20 years and has a BA Hons in French and Modern History from Queens’ University Belfast, an MA in Applied Languages & Business and a PhD in Creative Writing from Ulster University. Her Doctorate specialised in dialect in diary novels, the Ulster Scots family history of the Agnew/Ó Gnímh family and female novelists writing in Scots and Ulster Scots.

She is the author of 5 novels, a children’s illustrated book and a non-fiction history of Irish Dancing. She has also contributed to multiple anthologies and media articles.
