About Linda Hooke

Linda is a retired Primary headteacher who has researched and written several articles of local historical non-fiction, which have been published in the Northern Ireland Family History Society’s magazines and in Familia 2022, The Ulster Historical Foundation’s annual periodical. She was also a contributor to Mid and East Antrim Council’s “Looking Back to Look Forward” Project to commemorate the first Centenary of Northern Ireland.

Having discovered a love of writing in later life, Linda was inspired by a little-known castle in Kilwaughter, close to her home, to write her first, full length novel, The Squire of Kilwaughter. She lives with her husband in a rural village in County Antrim, Northern Ireland and does voluntary work in her local museum in Larne.
