About Tina Salvesen

Tina Salvesen was raised in Miami and returned to the city after living in the Northeast of the US and in Europe. She graduated with honors from Skidmore College and Temple University earning a Master in Art Education.

She is considered a master draftsman focusing on fine mark making and mixed media. Her work is about disintegration and renewal in the natural world. She has a reverence for nature and includes many local plants and flowers in her books and artwork. Her books vibrate with bright colors of the tropics, the light and color in the earth, sky, clouds, water, and flowers of Florida.

Tina’s many exhibitions in the United States and Europe include shows at the Boca Raton Art Museum, Coral Gables Art Museum, The Newark Museum, The New Jersey State Museum, and The State Museum of Pennsylvania.

With author Celia Straus, she has produced children’s picture books, including If an Elephant Can Wear A Mask So Can You, in English and Spanish, and Iris: BoBo Finds a Friend, the first in a series.
